Oni are said to be the descendants of a primal race of Titans that once inhabited Higashi-Rei. Once found all across Higashi-Rei, now they nest their shrine cities in the country’s numerous mountains, flourishing high above the squabbles of Men.

Racial TraitsEdit

  • +2 Strength, +2 Intelligence, -2 Wisdom: Oni are powerful and intelligent creatures, but prone to distraction.
  • Medium Size: Though physically imposing, Oni are only Medium size.
  • Normal Speed: Oni have a base land speed of 30ft. They are not slowed by medium or heavy armor.
  • Powerful Build: Oni wield weapons one size category larger than normal. They are treated as large-size when calculating CMB and CMD.
  • Racial Enemy: Oni gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls against Fey, and their natural weapons are treated as Cold Iron for overcoming their damage reduction.
  • Oni Magic: Oni gain a +1 bonus to caster level when casting Divination spells or spells with the Fire or Earth descriptor. Oni with an Intelligence of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities:

o 1/dayshield, expeditious excavation. At Willmending. The caster level for these effects is equal to the Oni's level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the Oni's Intelligence modifier.

  • Gore: Oni have a gore attack that deals 1d8 points of damage. It counts as a light manufactured weapon when used in conjunction with other manufactured attacks.
  • Imposing: Oni are treated as large-size for the purposes of intimidate checks.
  • Skill Affinity: Oni have a +2 bonus on Sense Motive checks.
  • Languages: Oni begin play speaking Sylvan.

Physical DescriptionEdit

Oni come in a variety of colours, ranging from pale bluish-green to blood red to black. They look like big, demonic humanoids with dark hair and a pair of ivory horns jutting from their heads. Their eyes are black with white centers, and their teeth and claws are jet black. Oni stand at 7-8 feet tall on average.

Society and CultureEdit

The Oni keep the brains of their wisest sages and greatest heroes in their hallowed halls. They believe that their wisdom and bravery will remain, radiating out to those nearby. The brains are mixed with lime and formed into a round orb.
